Behaviour and material properties of versaloc semi-interlocking mortarless masonry

Abstract Masonry construction is popular around the world, but use of mortared masonry presents numerous challenges. In recent decades, systems incorporating interlocking units have been proposed to eliminate mortar. The between can be achieved using specially shaped units. This paper a comprehensive experimental study determine behaviour as well basic material properties one such semi-interlocking mortarless masonry. experiments included testings ungrouted units, prisms, and wallets. addition, prisms wallets with grouted cores were also investigated effect grouting. A detailed description procedure explained. failure mechanisms, maximum strengths, force–displacement relationships, modulus elasticity samples are obtained contrasted relevant results from literature. Finally, recommendations made that may assist model development required for micro- macro-modelling new information generated in this research will enable better understanding useful validating numerical models future research.
